VP Global Strategy Execution (all genders)

Purpose of the Role

The VP Global Strategy Execution plays a pivotal role in anchoring Evotec’s strategy across the organization. This role reports to the Head of Transformation and is responsible for translating strategic intent into actionable initiatives and ensuring their successful execution. Acting as a sparring partner to senior operational leaders, the manager drives alignment, monitors progress and ensures that strategic priorities deliver measurable impact. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational rigor, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Execution — Drive and support the development and refinement of segment and functional strategies in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Strategy Execution — Translate strategic plans into actionable roadmaps with clear milestones and deliverables for the next 5 years
  • Strategy Execution — Define and lead a structured operating rhythm with business and functional teams to ensure consistent execution
  • Strategy Execution — Provide hands-on guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment and momentum throughout implementation
  • Strategy Execution — Establish and manage an annual strategy review cycle, integrated with corporate planning processes (e.g., budget, innovation board)
  • Strategy Execution — Foster a culture of continuous improvement and strategic agility
  • Performance Management — Monitor progress of strategic initiatives and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Performance Management — Identify risks and roadblocks early, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Performance Management — Provide regular updates to senior leadership, highlighting progress, challenges, and course corrections
  • Performance Management — Oversee financial tracking of strategic initiatives, including implementation costs, benefits, and investment needs, in close collaboration with Finance
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication — Act as a strategic partner to senior operational and functional leaders, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication — Lead cross-functional teams to drive implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication — Present insights, risks, and recommendations to the Management Board to support executive decision-making
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication — Facilitate communication across departments and leadership levels to ensure transparency and engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 5–10+ years of experience in strategy execution, transformation, or project management
  • Strong industry knowledge in biotech / pharma to ensure credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Strategic vision and ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Data-driven decision-making and executive-level communication.
  • Proactive, outcome-oriented, and resilient under pressure.
  • Strong influencing skills across organizational levels and functions.
  • Ability to lead without formal authority and build trust-based relationships.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Fluent in English; German or French is a plus
