Vision Expert


Job Summary:

The Vision Expert will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining vision systems to ensure the highest quality standards in lithium battery production. This role involves working closely with cross- functional teams to optimize production processes, improve defect detection, and enhance overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine vision, image processing, and automation, dimensional vision with experience in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vision System Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement machine vision systems for quality inspection, defect detection, dimensional detection vision, and process control in lithium battery production.
  • Select and integrate cameras, lenses, lighting, and other vision system components.
  • Develop and optimize image processing algorithms for high-speed, high-accuracy inspection.

2. Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify critical inspection points and develop vision solutions to detect defects such as cracks, misalignments, dimension errors and surface imperfections.
  • Ensure vision systems meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements.

3. Process Optimization:

  • Work with production and engineering teams to integrate vision systems into automated production lines.
  • Continuously monitor and improve vision system performance to enhance production efficiency and reduce downtime.

4. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to vision systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of vision equipment to ensure consistent performance.

5. Documentation & Training:

  • Create detailed documentation for vision system designs, configurations, and operating procedures.
  • Train production and maintenance staff on the operation and troubleshooting of vision systems.

6. Innovation & Research:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine vision, image processing, AI and automation technologies.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve production processes and product quality.

7. Collaboration and Support:

  • Excellent collaboration and communication with suppliers.
  • Work closely with other teams, including process engineering, maintenance, and production, to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operators and technicians who work with the automated equipment.
  • Assist in training staff on the safe operation and maintenance of mechatronic systems.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in machine vision, image processing, or automation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with vision system software (e.g., Keyence, Cognex, UniVision) and programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, C#).
  • Familiarity with lithium battery production processes is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of machine vision hardware (cameras, lenses, lighting) and software.
  • Proficiency in image processing techniques, including edge detection, pattern matching, and blob analysis.
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, and industrial automation systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Second language: English


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML-based vision systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to lithium battery production.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for system design and integration.
  • At least 4 to 5 years of experience in related fields.
