Veritas Backup SME

The Veritas Backup SME IT Infrastructure will be responsible for the design implementation management and troubleshooting of Veritas backup solutions across the organization This individual will provide expertise in Veritas NetBackup ensuring the smooth operation of backup and recovery processes and playing a crucial role in the overall data protection strategy of the IT infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

1 Backup and Recovery Management

Design implement and manage Veritas NetBackup solutions for enterprise level backup and recovery operations

Develop backup strategies schedules and policies to ensure data protection compliance and retention requirements are met

Perform regular backups restores and disaster recovery tests to ensure systems are functioning correctly

Monitor backup jobs and ensure the completion of backups for various environments onpremises virtual cloud

2 System Design and Implementation

Architect scalable and efficient backup solutions using Veritas products NetBackup Backup Exec etc

Provide expertise on Veritas NetBackup configurations including tuning and optimization

Lead or support projects involving data migration storage optimization and disaster recovery strategies

Ensure that backup solutions are aligned with the companys infrastructure architecture and security policies

3 Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning

Identify and troubleshoot issues in backup operations performance and failures

Perform root cause analysis for any backup or recovery issues and provide solutions

Tune the backup environment for optimal performance including network storage and server components

Resolve any bottlenecks and enhance the overall reliability of backup solutions

4 Automation and Monitoring

Automate backup processes to improve efficiency reduce manual intervention and ensure reliable backups

Set up and configure monitoring tools to proactively detect potential issues in the backup environment

Establish performance metrics and reporting tools to regularly assess the health of backup infrastructure

5 Documentation and Reporting

Maintain and update documentation for backup policies processes configurations and troubleshooting guides

Provide detailed reporting on backup status capacity planning recovery performance and risk assessments

Ensure documentation is kept up to date for audit and compliance purposes

6 Collaboration and Support

Collaborate with storage server and network teams to ensure the proper functioning of backup and restore processes
