Software Designer with High Associated Criticality for the Aircraft Technologies & Systems Unit, located in Turin / Venegono Superiore (VA). This role focuses on the design, development, verification, and qualification of on-board aircraft control system software.
Responsibilities
Support the team leader in defining architectures (partitioning and/or libraries) and proposing highly modular solutions to facilitate hardware portability and interchangeability. Study and apply reference regulations (e.g., RTCA/DO‑178C, DO‑331) and best practices for design, development, and verification of software systems. Analyze system specifications to define software implementations, using Model‑Based methodologies with SysML‑based tools. Collaborate with testing resources to consider verification needs during implementation for host and target environment verifications. Manage assigned activities, estimating durations, verifying progress, and controlling metrics such as CPI and SPI. Comment on or review project documentation from independent parties, formalizing outcomes through peer review. Contribute to analysis of problems encountered during testing and manage related configuration changes. Support other company departments (system, software quality, configuration, certification, safety, airworthiness, V&V) to achieve product qualification and/or certifiability.
Educational Qualifications Three‑year or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Sciences, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering. Seniority Junior Technical Knowledge and Skills
Programming in C (knowledge of Ada and .NET seen as a plus). Experience with development and compilation environments for microcontrollers. Knowledge of modeling languages such as SysML/UML (desirable). Knowledge of Mathworks suite tools (Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and related coders). Experience with compilation and debugging systems.
Behavioral Skills
Proactive and empathetic, capable of interfacing with other company figures and coordinating projects or small teams. Strong problem‑analysis and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work under stress.
Language Skills Good written and spoken English. Additional Information
Availability for national and international travel. Contract type: Permanent. Hybrid working arrangement.
