Compass Group Italia SpA , part of Compass Group PLC , the global leader in contract catering and B2B foodservices with over £40 billion in annual revenue, is seeking a Unit Manager to support a prestigious international B&I client.

Based in Milan , the selected candidate will manage and coordinate daily foodservice operations for a key corporate site, ensuring service excellence, adherence to company procedures, and alignment with the client’s international standards.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations for Italy, Spain and Portugal , this role represents a pivotal link between local operations and a broader multinational structure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the client, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and consistent service delivery.
  • Oversee on-site foodservice activities — including corporate restaurants, coffee corners, and premium service points — guaranteeing compliance with operational and quality standards.
  • Monitor operational performance, control costs, and support budget adherence while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the on-site team, fostering an inclusive, structured, and performance-oriented environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, food safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of process discipline, innovation, and simplification to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize digital tools and management systems to track performance, produce reports, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of corporate initiatives, best practices, and procedural updates from the international organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with regional leadership, demonstrating a multinational mindset and comfort within a structured, matrix environment.


Requirements

  • Proven experience (approximately 3–6 years) in a supervisory or junior management role within corporate catering, hospitality, or structured foodservice environments.
  • Strong operational understanding of service standards, team coordination, and site management.
  • Excellent IT skills, with confidence in using digital tools, reporting systems, and Excel.
  • Fluent English is essential ; additional languages are considered a plus.
