The University of North Alabama’s Spencer College of Education and Human Sciences’ Kilby Laboratory School is accepting applications for the position of Lead Teacher, Pre‑K Four‑Year Class. This lead teacher oversees instruction and supervision of a four‑year‑old preschool classroom program in an Alabama Department of Children’s Affairs Office of School Readiness classroom.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement age‑appropriate daily activities for four‑year‑old children. Design and implement the preschool curriculum. Follow grant guidelines and maintain the classroom environment to meet NAEYC accreditation standards. Supervise the auxiliary teacher and student workers.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in early childhood education AND hold or be eligible for an Alabama valid professional educator certification in Early Childhood Education (P‑3). LETRS training preferred; STEM instruction experience preferred. OR Master’s‑level Special Education degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework AND hold or be eligible for an Alabama valid professional educator certification in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework. Position is grant‑funded; employment contingent upon available funding.
