Overview
We’re looking for a proactive and driven individual to join our Reinsurance Treaty team in the Italian team. You’ll work mainly on Property & Casualty lines, with the chance to explore other areas like Cyber, Credit, Surety, or Engineering. Based in Rome or Milan, you’ll also have the flexibility to work from other Gallagher Re offices in Europe, such as London or Munich. This is a unique opportunity to manage existing client relationships while also focusing on developing new business opportunities.
How You’ll Make An Impact
In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing and growing our reinsurance business in Italy and beyond. You’ll be part of dedicated client teams working closely with clients and carriers to deliver tailored solutions and build strong, lasting relationships.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of Italian clients, ensuring excellent service and support.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strong relationships with carriers.
- Market complex reinsurance solutions to carriers on behalf of clients.
- Analyse client needs and design tailored reinsurance solutions.
- Negotiate competitive reinsurance terms and present recommendations to clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different locations to deliver results.
- Use your project management skills to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
What you’ll bring:
- A degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience in reinsurance, either from a broker or carrier background, with approximately five years of relevant expertise.
- Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken); additional languages like Spanish, French, or German are a bonus but not essential.
- A proactive and commercial approach to developing new business opportunities.
- Strong sales mentality: ability to build and maintain client and carrier relationships.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to produce, project manage and deliver presentations and analysis to clients and prospects with the final aim of generating new business opportunities.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment with colleagues across different locations.
