What To Expect
We are seeking a highly motivated Tolerance Management Engineer to join our engineering organization. In this role, you will contribute directly to the dimensional quality of complex mechanical assemblies by performing both 3D and 1D tolerance analyses, working with cross-functional teams, and supporting product validation throughout the development cycle. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with strong communication and problem‑solving skills in a collaborative environment.
Main Responsibilities
- 3D Tolerance Analysis & Simulation
- Running 3D tolerance simulations using OEM‑approved digital tools.
- Preparing CAD models and organizing required geometry for analysis.
- Building product assemblies and defining key points and features for accurate alignment.
- Applying and interpreting GD&T based on engineering drawings.
- Creating and configuring measurement outputs (gaps, clearances, alignment references, etc.).
- Analyzing simulation results and providing clear recommendations.
- Preparing professional presentations summarizing findings for stakeholders.
- Supporting technical discussions and participating in meetings throughout the process.
- Tolerance Documentation (Excel AOs)
- Creating Excel‑based tolerance overviews using OEM internal applications.
- Adding images, measurement points, alignment points, and tolerance definitions.
- Coordinating with team leaders and quality planners for validation and approval.
- Ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date documentation within the system.
- 1D Tolerance Chain Calculations
- Defining gap, offset, parallelism, and uniformity measurements.
- Linking measurements to relevant parts and documentation.
- Building assembly tolerance chains and integrating process tolerances.
- Exporting results and preparing clear status updates for project reviews.
- Presenting findings and supporting decision‑making in cross‑functional teams.
What You Bring Along
- Experience with 3D tolerance analysis tools (such as 3DCS or similar OEM software).
- Solid understanding of GD&T standards and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with OEM systems for dimensional management and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
