Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Your Contribution To Prysmian's Success We are looking for an Engineer to join the Diagnostic and Site Testing section of the Installation Engineering Department in Milan HQ. The position involves engineering and execution of technical tasks relevant to the design of cable testing onshore and offshore, including preparation of technical documentation such as procedures, drawings, and technical specifications for subcontractors. The role also covers site activities for fault localization, electrical tests on site during/at the end of cable installation, and preparation of technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of electrical tests during cable installation and at commissioning.
• Design and execution of fault location activities on power cables.
• Collaborate with other Prysmian departments such as Purchasing, System Design and Project Management.
• Work frequently on site for moderate periods during testing or fault location activities.
• Interface with Prysmian clients and subcontractors on technical matters.
• Provide support and inputs during tender stage to proposal engineers and during execution to colleagues across departments on site.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• A master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Preferably 1 year of experience within offshore or technical environments or demonstrated interest in the sector.
• Availability to travel frequently for moderate periods and on short notice.
• Genuine interest in technical matters, hands-on approach, good communication skills and ability to work in teams.
• Problem-solving skills, goal orientation, pragmatism, and ability to manage priorities in coordination with Management.
