Primary Function

Execute roller bench vehicle testing activities, coordinating a team in test setup, configuration, and definition of compliance requirements. Responsible for improving test efficiency, implementing testing procedures, leading the team, and ensuring quality certification. Perform performance and validation activities on the roller bench (Thermal Performance, PEMS Simulation, RDE, NEDC, WLTP cycles, etc.).

Annual roller bench workload: approx. 800 tests/year .


Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the testing team and oversee homologation and development activities in collaboration with the application team.
  • Perform critical analysis of test results and ensure proper documentation and follow‑up.
  • Manage roller bench testing activities, working with internal and external customers and coordinating with other testing centers.
  • Handle high‑pressure situations with initiative and professionalism, including conducting approval tests in the presence of ministerial officials or regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain solid knowledge of current global emission regulations.


Job Specification

The candidate will manage the planning, execution, and reporting of roller bench tests and act as a technical reference for the assigned personnel. He/She will drive continuous improvement of existing procedures and contribute to the development of new testing methodologies.

Technical and operational requirements:

  • Basic programming skills (e.g., VBA, MATLAB) to support the development of new driving cycles and integrate measurement instrumentation with automation systems.
  • Contribution to ISO certification processes for emission testing equipment.
  • Experience with engine emission measurements using equipment compliant with EMEA, APAC, and NAFTA regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of emission measurement instrumentation, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ability to analyze vehicle and subsystem test results, identify deviations, and propose improvement actions.
  • Basic understanding of electric vehicle architectures and knowledge of safety certifications required for high‑voltage system work.

Communication requirements:

The role requires continuous interaction both internally and externally.

Internal interfaces:

  • Test engineers
  • Technicians and foremen
  • Safety manager (RSPP)
  • Quality manager for ISO‑TS certification
  • ICT teams for HW/SW improvement activities

External interfaces:

  • Suppliers for maintenance contracts, facility upgrades, automation systems, and emission equipment


Qualifications

  • Education: Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical background, with specialization in Diesel and CNG engines.
  • Competencies: Strong understanding of complex technical systems (electronics, hydraulics, mechanics), teamwork, problem‑solving, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years.


Travel Requirements

Up to 5% of working time.


  • Suppliers for maintenance contracts and improvements in plants, automation and emission systems.


Education: Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical skills + Diesel and CNG Engine specialization

Competences: technical complex systems (electronics, hydraulics, mechanics), team working, problem solving and public speaking

Experience: 2 years


Travel Requirements: Expected 5% of time
