Test Engineer

Overview

Test Engineer role at Hitachi Rail . The position is based in Naples, Italy . The successful candidate is an enthusiastic self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to technical to strategic.

As an Electrical Technician, you will be a key player in the development and testing of innovative products. Your role ensures precise test execution, lab efficiency, and compliance with safety standards while supporting engineers and scientists.

Accountabilities And Job Description

• Analysis, verification and testing of requirements (functional and non-functional, hardware) allocated to the generic product level integrated in railways systems and applications;


• Design, implementation, execution and verification of functional and integration tests at subsystem and generic product level;


• Drafting of the documentary set relating to the overall set of testing activities;


• Preparation and execution of test activities in laboratory including measuring setup (Mechanical, electrical);


• Support for measuring activities including the instrumentation maintenance activities;


• Support on daily maintenance of industrial equipment (SW and HW);


• Support in drafting test procedures

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Good knowledge of electrical test and measurement


• Experience on automation systems (PLC and related communication protocols)


• Good knowledge and use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)


• Good knowledge of main laboratory measuring instruments


• Knowledge of analysis of experimental data


• Knowledge of principal electrical standards


• Experience in checking electrical systems


• Troubleshooting and maintenance of MV, LV systems


• Experience in operating AC/DC and DC/DC and DC/AC electrical panels and converters


• Troubleshooting, adjustment and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment


• Ability to measure with electronic instruments


• Ability to understand a schematic diagram


• Ability to manage activity schedule and periodic reporting


• Ability to work in a multicultural international environment

Education / Qualifications

• Master’s Degree electrical engineering


• Bachelor’s Degree electrical engineering

Languages

• Italian: excellent knowledge of written and spoken language (mandatory)


• English: good knowledge of written and spoken language (mandatory)
