Test engineer

Dainese , a global company leader in protective equipment and garments for motorcycling and dynamic sports, is looking for a Test Engineer for our Research & Development Department .

He/she will be responsible for testing, validating and optimising our clothing and protective equipment , ensuring the highest standards of performance, safety, and comfort.

The candidate will be involved in the design, prototyping and certification phases, working with Development and Quality teams and external laboratories.

The figure must organize and manage internal and external testers to carry out fit tests and road tests.

YOU WILL BE IN CHARGE OF:

• Plan and perform mechanical and functional tests on technical clothing, protective gear and helmets (abrasion, impact, traction, waterproofing, thermoregulation, fit tests, road tests).
• Organise and coordinate dynamic tests with riders , simulating real-world conditions.
• Collaborate with external laboratories and external collaborators .
• Draft technical reports and manage the execution of tests defined by the validation matrix.
• Participate in and organise dynamic tests with motorcyclists (simulations of real use).
• Analyse data, report critical issues and propose improvements to design or materials.
• Provide technical and scientific feedback to support product development during the prototyping phase.
• Monitor regulatory updates and ensure product compliance with industry standards.

WE'D LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU IF:

• You have a degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering , or related fields (a technical diploma may also be considered).
• You have previous experience in companies in the motorcycle, sports or PPE sector.
• You have a solid knowledge of industry regulations (CE standards for motorcycle PPE, helmet specifications).
• You have strong analytical and technical reporting skills .
• You have a team-oriented mindset and ability to work in cross-functional environments .
• You are fluent in speaking English (B2/C1 level)
• You are passionate about motorcycling a nd familiar with motorcycle gear.
• Above all, you bring a genuine passion for motorcycles, a deep understanding of riders’ needs, and ideally a Class A licence to experience riding first-hand.
