About the Role
As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a Technical Sales Manager – Transformers to support the expansion of our transformer business. This is a hybrid role at the intersection of technology and business development: the successful candidate will combine solid technical expertise in transformers with strong commercial skills, acting as the key link between our customers, our Business Development team, and our engineering and production organization. The position is part of the EGLA Business Development team and works in close coordination with our engineering and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Support and drive the expansion of the transformers business, contributing both technical expertise and commercial development;
Act as the technical interface between customers, the Business Development team, and internal engineering and production teams, translating customer requirements into feasible technical and industrial solutions;
Provide technical support throughout the sales process: feasibility assessments, product/application discussions, technical clarifications, and solution definition;
Prepare technical and economic proposals in collaboration with internal engineering and operations teams, and support commercial negotiations through to contract closure;
Develop new business opportunities with OEMs and key players in the transformer market, leveraging industry knowledge and customer relationships;
Lead technical and contractual discussions with customers and prospects;
Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring their technical and commercial needs are properly addressed;
Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, production, quality, logistics) to ensure customer requirements are correctly understood, specified, and executed;
Monitor commercial performance and report regularly to senior management on pipeline, opportunities, and results;
Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, and customer meetings;
Contribute to market intelligence, competitor analysis, and technology trends monitoring to support strategic business development initiatives.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical background);
Solid experience (5+ years) in the transformers industry, in technical, application engineering, technical sales, or business development roles;
Strong technical understanding of transformer design, components, and manufacturing processes (knowledge of magnetic cores and laminations is a strong plus);
Demonstrated commercial aptitude: ability to develop opportunities, negotiate, and build long-term customer relationships;
An existing network of contacts with transformer manufacturers and industry stakeholders is considered a significant advantage;
Ability to workeffectively across functions, bridging engineering/production teams and commercial teams;
Fluent in English; additional languages are considered a plus;
Availability totravel frequently;
Ability to operate independently while coordinating with international and cross-functional teams;
Familiarity with CRM systems and standard office tools.
Location
Northern Italy, preferably within reasonable reach of Baranzate, for periodic alignment with headquarters;
Frequent travelis required.
Pay range and compensation package
Base salary, depending on experience, in the range of €60,000–€75,000 base annual salary (RAL);
Performance-based bonus linked to sales results;
International exposure within a growing industrial environment, with a role positioned at the crossroads of technology and business development.
