Technical Lead / Senior Consultant – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) (development using X++)
Salary Budget: Approx. AUD15,000 – 16,000 per month (~AUD 700/day)
Mode of Work: Hybrid (mostly remote, travel to Sydney 1–3 times per month)
It will be need based. Frequency will be higher in the initial phase but would be reduced to maybe once in 6 months or so.
Estimated once every 2-3 months with maybe a week long stay to begin with. But it may change as time goes on.
Travel costs will be borne by Company on actuals.

Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead / Functional-Technical Consultant specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) with strong expertise in Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
This role requires a hands‑on technical leader who can design, build, and optimize enterprise‑grade D365FO solutions while working closely with business and functional stakeholders. You will play a key role in technical solution ownership, integrations, performance optimization, and delivery governance across large‑scale ERP implementations in APAC and China regions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Act as the primary technical authority for D365FO solution delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architecture guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with functional consultants and solution leads to align system design with business needs.
Solution Design & Development
- Design and implement complex customizations, extensions, and enhancements in D365FO.
- Build and manage system integrations using Azure services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions, APIs).
- Ensure solution scalability, stability, performance, and maintainability.
Quality Assurance & Performance
- Conduct code reviews and enforce development quality standards.
- Perform system performance tuning and optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical technical and integration issues.
Environment & Release Management
- Manage environments using Lifecycle Services (LCS).
- Support deployment pipelines and release management using Azure DevOps.
- Oversee data migration activities using DMF and OData.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with customer technical and functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance during workshops, design reviews, SIT, and UAT phases.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to project stakeholders.
Required Expertise
D365FO Functional Modules
- Finance: GL, AP, AR
- Supply Chain: Procurement, Inventory Management, Production Control
- Warehouse: Advanced WMS, inbound/outbound processes, picking & packing strategies
Technical Skills
- Extensions and customization best practices
- DMF, OData, batch processing
- Azure integrations (Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Functions)
- Performance testing and optimization experience
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage delivery under pressure
- Capable of mentoring teams across multiple locations and time zones
Certifications / Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Architect Expert (good to have)
- Proven experience in large-scale ERP implementations with complex integrations
- Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is an advantage
