Our Milan Office is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Lead / QC Inspector to join our dynamic team.


Role Purpose

The Technical Lead – QC Inspector is a hybrid role that combines hands‑on field inspection with technical leadership. The role ensures high‑quality execution of inspections at vendor shops and project sites, while also serving as the technical focal point for internal inspectors, coordination teams, and clients. The Technical Lead provides guidance, resolves technical queries, reviews reports, and contributes to continuous improvement across operations.

Operations Manager / Country Manager / Regional Manager


Main Duties (include but not limited to):

A) Field Inspection & Testing

  • Represent Fulkrum and its clients during field quality‑control inspections, ensuring accurate verification of MTCs and MTRs.
  • Witness and verify all required NDT activities, including VT, RT, PT, UT, MT, along with FAT, heat treatment processes, mechanical testing, and other shop or site inspection activities.
  • Execute inspections in accordance with approved ITPs and method statements, raising discrepancies and reporting quality saves, punch list or non‑conformities when necessary.
  • Conduct pre‑shipment inspections and confirm the readiness of equipment and materials for dispatch.
  • Verify the calibration status and traceability of all inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and conformity.

B) Technical Leadership & Support

  • Act as the regional technical focal point, supporting inspectors with workload management, resolving technical clarifications, and interpreting acceptance criteria.
  • Review, coach, and enhance inspectors’ reporting quality to ensure consistency and maintain a 24‑hour turnaround where applicable.
  • Lead and support NCR discussions, participate in technical meetings, and contribute to client presentations to ensure clear communication and effective resolution of quality issues.
  • Deliver structured technical training to ensure consistent knowledge, capability, and performance across the QC inspection team.

C) Quality, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Type A requirements and all internal QMS processes.
  • Support witness monitoring activities, internal and external audits, and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures, templates, and quality processes.

D) Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports within 24 hours of inspection.
  • Review, validate, and approve inspection reports and related documentation submitted by subordinate inspectors, ensuring accuracy, technical compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Issue NCRs and ensure timely closure, including verification of corrective actions.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all inspection data, ensuring information is shared only with authorized client representatives.
  • Ensure all findings are accurately reported, including clear identification of any subcontracted test results within submitted documentation.

E) Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain professional communication with clients, suppliers, and internal coordination teams to support effective project execution.
  • Support the technical review of client ITPs, procedures, and tenders as required.
  • Support the coordination team as needed to ensure smooth project execution.

F) HSE Responsibilities

  • Comply with company and site‑specific HSE rules, reporting incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture within the inspection team.


Authority & Decision Rights

  • Provide recommendations on assignment of competent inspectors for projects.
  • Endorse inspection reports and certificates in accordance with authorization levels.
  • Review and comment on client ITPs and technical documentation.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.


Experience

  • Minimum 5 years (Bachelor’s) or 8 years (Diploma) of QC inspection experience.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading technical inspection activities.

Qualification & Certifications

  • CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI.
  • BGAS, NACE, or SSPC coating qualifications (preferable).
  • ISO 9712 (or equivalent) Level II in VT, RT, PT, UT, MT.
  • COMPEX / ATEX for electrical inspection scopes.
  • Aramco QMs / CBT approval (preferable)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards, including ASME, ASNT, API, and NACE.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and standards across multiple commodities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas industry project types, both onshore and offshore.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.


Language Requirements

Proficiency in English and Italian is mandatory, with strong written and verbal communication skills required for field reporting, client interaction, and technical coordination.


Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role involving vendor site visits as well as office/remote technical leadership activities.
  • Travel required to support inspections across multiple workshops.
