Technical Lead – Connected Services (Architecture, Quality & Operations)

About The Role
We are looking for a highly hands‑on Technical Lead to take full technical ownership of our connected services ecosystem, including cloud platforms and mobile applications supporting next-generation performance vehicles. In a lean core team, you will act as the technical authority, quality gatekeeper, and operational escalation point , ensuring that externally developed solutions are scalable, secure, stable, and production‑ready. This role combines solution architecture , DevOps oversight , release validation , and incident management , requiring strong technical depth and the ability to operate autonomously.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Technical Governance
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of cloud and mobile connected services (AWS/Azure + iOS/Android ecosystem).
- Translate product requirements into scalable and maintainable system designs.
- Review and approve technical solutions delivered by external development partners.
- Define API, integration, and data flow standards across mobile apps, backend services, and vehicle systems.
- Ensure cybersecurity, authentication, and data privacy compliance by design.
- Prevent vendor lock‑in by maintaining architectural documentation and knowledge internally.
2. Quality & Release Gatekeeping
- Define technical acceptance criteria for feature releases.
- Review code quality practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes (through vendor governance).
- Coordinate technical validation before production releases.
- Support regression and integration test strategy with external QA teams.
- Act as final technical sign‑off authority (Go/No‑Go support with Product Manager).
3. Operations & Incident Management
- Monitor cloud environments, uptime, performance, and application stability KPIs.
- Analyze logs, crash analytics, and backend metrics to identify root causes of incidents.
- Act as L2/L3 escalation point for complex production issues.
- Coordinate hotfixes and corrective releases with development partners.
- Support structured incident management processes (severity levels, RCA, mitigation actions).
- Optimize cloud resource usage and cost efficiency.
4. Continuous Improvement
- Identify technical debt and propose remediation plans.
- Improve DevOps, monitoring, and automation processes.
- Benchmark competitor solutions and propose architectural improvements.
- Contribute to long‑term platform evolution strategy.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, system architecture, or technical leadership roles.
- Strong hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and distributed/microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of mobile app ecosystems (iOS/Android) and backend integration models (REST APIs, authentication flows).
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud monitoring tools.
- Ability to read and review code (even if not coding daily).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to operate independently in a lean organization.
- Experience working with external vendors and offshore teams.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience in automotive connected services, IoT platforms, or telematics.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and data privacy regulations.
- Familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN) or standards (ISO 26262, A‑SPICE).
- Experience with community platform implementation and management, including best practices for user engagement, moderation workflows, and awareness of market/technology trends.
- Experience integrating and managing digital payment systems, including in-app purchases, subscription models, and related backend/payment gateway integrations.
- Passion for performance vehicles and digital mobility ecosystems.
