Overview

At Amazon, we strive to be the most customer-centric company on earth. We are seeking Team Leads for our transportation team to support shift operations at our Delivery Centers (DCs) and assist the DC manager with performance management and driving the operational plan.

Responsibilities

  • Defining, building and executing the delivery process from the delivery station to the customer address.
  • Ensure sufficient bandwidth in the territorial delivery team to support peak time delivery management.
  • Engage closely with the delivery team, including associates, to develop and maintain a highly motivated and performance-driven team.
  • Continuously improve the delivery process and maintain a sustained level of delivery performance through process and training improvements; initiate improvements to enhance quality standards, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
  • Analyze data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and drive improvements.
  • Implement formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen.

A day in the life

  • Show strong leadership and people management skills; ability to work under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
  • Communicate clearly with individuals and the team about what needs to be achieved for the Delivery Center/Amazon to meet objectives; listen to gain input and commitment from all involved.
  • Demonstrate a strong bias for customer service by helping the team understand customer experience and what customers need and expect.
  • Take ownership to ensure delivery of changes, solutions, or services that fulfill customer needs.
  • Apply analytical skills to interpret information, identify key facts, and evaluate options and risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing environment, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Excel.
