About This Vacancy
You will participate in the development of onboard signaling systems, focusing on requirements analysis, architecture definition, system design, and integration. You will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and partners, supporting laboratory activities and field testing throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze input documentation and customer-specific and/or generally applicable requirements;
- Identify the functions, architecture, and interfaces of onboard signaling systems, as well as transportation standards in Italy and across Europe;
- Develop concepts, system requirement specifications, and system/subsystem-level architectures;
- Design the system and its configuration, creating the related documentation;
- Interface with the client and other partners;
- Participate in meetings with the development team and other partners;
- Apply processes, methods, and tools in compliance with customer standards;
- Perform system integration activities in the laboratory and on-site;
- Support laboratory tests and on-site activities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in the railway sector, preferably as a Systems Engineer and/or Designer focused on onboard systems.
- Basic knowledge of disciplines related to onboard systems design: applicable regulations, ETCS OBU functions and architecture, European technical standards.
- Knowledge of key regulations concerning onboard systems in the railway sector.
- Basic understanding of RAMS disciplines is an advantage.
- Proficiency in major office automation software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of the IBM DOORS requirements management tool.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and railway operations.
- Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels, with a predisposition to contribute constructive and practical ideas.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative, dynamic, multitasking international environment.
- Ability to work independently within teams and on projects.
