About the Position:
We are looking for a System Calibration Manager to join the Propulsion System Integration, Calibration and Test team.
This position is based at our office in Bologna.
As the System Calibration Manager at Marelli, you will be capable of ensuring the calibration, optimization, and validation of engine control unit algorithms, in compliance with quality standards, Marelli procedures, and industry regulations, leading and technically developing a team of Application Engineers.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Manage and supervise EMS algorithm calibration activities, coordinating the dedicated engineering team.
- Define and implement calibration strategies to achieve required performance targets (emissions, fuel consumption, drivability, reliability).
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and testing functions to ensure integration and validation of calibrated solutions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO, IATF) and customer specifications, through audits, reports, and KPIs.
- Promote digitalization and innovation in calibration processes, developing and adopting advanced tools and methodologies.
- Manage technical documentation related to calibration activities, ensuring traceability and continuous updating.
- Support training and skill development of the global team, in line with Marelli’s skill catalogue and evaluation processes.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and problem-solving activities for EMS algorithms, ensuring project timelines are met.
- Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of calibration procedures, in collaboration with other engineering functions.
- Guarantee the compliance of calibration process workflow with the Marelli standards defined.
- Promote the use of statistical analysis and big data management to validate strategies performance and diagnosis robustness.
- Support on Customer site for calibration activities development, when requested.
What Qualifications you will bring:
EDUCATION (school / specialization): Mechanic or Electronic Eng.
EXPERIENCES : at least 10 years of experience as Application Project Leader and/or Application Team Leader on SI/CI engines; base calibration at the engine testbench; emissions, drivability and OBD diagnosis experience; experience on BEV/HEV applications and VCU systems would be appreciated.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE and INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY : High level technical skills on the whole engine control system, good knowledge of OBD2 System Calibration and Regulation, Project, MS Office, ETAS Inca. Experience with Matlab and Python programming languages would be appreciated.
