Ellab is a rapidly growing, global player in validation and monitoring solutions approaching a 1000 people across the globe. To support our rapid expansion, we’re looking for an IT Administrator based in Milan to join our global IT team to act as primary support for our Italian branch and help with cross-country initiatives.


What will you be doing in the role?

You’re joining Ellab in a period of rapid growth both organically and through acquisitions. These rapid acquisitions have led to a fragmented IT landscape, with most countries looking different. To remedy this and achieving a globally unified IT landscape, we’ve recently merged local IT departments into a single, global IT team consisting of 10-12 IT professionals. This role is therefore a unique opportunity to make an impression on the global IT landscape and help deliver solutions at scale.

The role will be the sole IT person physically located in Italy and will therefore focus on tasks around 1st level support of laptops and phones, access management and implementation of global standards in collaboration with your local Italian colleagues and IT professionals across the global IT organisation. Given your presence on-the-ground in Italy, it’s expected you help capture local challenges and propagate them into the global planning processes.

As a member of a distributed global team regular (at least quarterly) travel within Europe is to be expected. Likewise, travel in Italy and Switzerland between our offices (Rome, Milan, Stabio) is expected from time to time.


Skills and mindset you’ll bring to Ellab

The IT landscape of Ellab is predominantly Microsoft based. This means experience with Microsoft 365, PCs (Windows) and Intune is essential . Likewise, is experience with technologies such as Azure, Entra ID, Autopilot and Active Directory is highly beneficial. Having spent some years with IT at the enterprise level and having a mindset of automation and scaling of processes will help you thrive and succeed in this role.

The role will manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, including providing technical support such as troubleshooting hardware (computers, mobile phones and all IT devices) and software issues for employees for colleagues based in the Italian offices of Ellab. During the design & rollouts of global initiatives this role will ensure the compatibility between the global ambition and the reality of the local business.

Some of the main tasks will also include: basic printer setup and maintenance (software installation and basic configuration, IT onboarding for new employees (device setup, software installation, permissions) and offboarding for the employees leaving the company, definition and maintenance for device configurations based on employee roles, maintenance of IT inventory of local hardware assets, coordination with external vendors for hardware, network and telecommunication services when needed, support with initial setup and access reset for the time & attendance tracking system (e.g., badge access, user credentials, portal login issues)

Given the multi-lingual nature of the team, written & verbal fluency in English is a must .
