About the Role
The Swiss CNC Programmer will create, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for Swiss‑style lathes. This individual will support new product introduction, improve machining efficiency, and ensure high accuracy across production runs. Medical device experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Program Swiss CNC machines using CAM software or machine‑side programming methods.
- Develop efficient toolpaths to reduce cycle time and improve part quality.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Collaborate with machinists to validate setups, prove out programs, and resolve issues.
- Support prototyping and production of complex geometries and multi‑op components.
- Improve and standardize programming and documentation practices.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and operations to support process improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience programming Swiss CNC machines such as Citizen, Star, or Tsugami.
- Strong understanding of G‑code, M‑code, tooling, and machine kinematics.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience using CAM software such as PartMaker, Esprit, or Mastercam.
- Knowledge of machining strategies for tight‑tolerance components.
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other precision industries is beneficial but not required.
