What You Will Do

• Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using nursing interventions to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health.
• Provide patient care in a primary scrub position and take responsibility for precepting others in the scrub role.
• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures and serve as a resource in an area of expertise.
• Ensure appropriate instruments and supplies are available, in proper working condition, and demonstrate ability to operate service-specific equipment.
• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field, adhering to patient safety standards.
• Support the operative team, including following patient care hand-off protocols and adhering to standards, policies, and procedures in collaboration with an RN/ACN.
• Actively participate in quality improvement processes.
• Engage in learning and self-improvement, performing as a knowledge expert and resource for the service line.

• Refer to departmental documentation during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI), completing annual training and adhering to UH policies and procedures.
