The DoctorsinItaly Fellowship Program is a unique experiential learning program dedicated to students from all over the world on a path to becoming healthcare professionals, in both the human health and animal health environment.

In a world that is increasingly borderless, the next generation of young leaders in healthcare will need to build cooperation and trust across different cultures and backgrounds.

The DoctorsinItaly Fellowship Program enables undergraduate and graduate students to shadow healthcare professionals, in top-ranked government and private healthcare facilities across Italy.

The Fellowship combines clinical observation in Italy with cultural discovery experiences.

We create strong emotions, personal growth, professional development, cultural immersion, lifelong friendships, and a global community of current and future healthcare professionals.

We are currently looking for a City Manager to run our popular Animal Health Program in Milan which provides shadowing opportunities for future veterinarians. As City Manager of the Milan Animal Health Program, you will be the main responsible for the success of the Fellowship Programs in your city and the main point of reference for groups of 5-8 students.

You will organize and oversee all student activities and logistics and act as a group leader, mentor, and main responsible for their safety and well-being during the program.

Your day-to-day activities include

  • Planning the observation rotations with the doctors and mentors at the vet clinic, sanctuaries and animal rescues
  • Organizing and executing group activities for the week
  • Coordinating and leading groups of students throughout all planned activities
  • Finding the best local partners for tours, activites and meals
  • Negotiating with providers to bring the most value within the budget
  • Communicating with students pre-departure and during their time with us
  • Checking in daily on students' safety and well-being, providing information, guidance, and support
  • Solving all sorts of problems, from trivial issues to major crisis situations: you're the leader and the person everyone turns to
  • Being available to students 24/7 in case of need during their stay

Who you are

A quick-thinking, sound-judging, reliable professional with:

  • excellent organization and people skills
  • fluent in English and Italian language
  • superior cultural competence
  • respectful and tactful communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • ability to navigate cultural norms and customs
  • a good knowledge of Milan
  • experience in hospitality / event management / education / travel / healthcare
  • superior problem-solving skills
  • a genuine desire to exceed expectations and inspire awe
  • ability to work under pressure

Salary

Approx 2000 euro/month salary + bonus

Transportation, group meals, and excursions fully covered

Full-time contract from June to August, training included - note that this is a seasonal contract
