Fast Forward Foundation ETS ( is seeking a highly motivated Strategy Intern to support the development of the Foundation’s new strategic plan and contribute to ongoing projects in the field of integrated welfare . This internship represents an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in a philanthropic organization working at the intersection of welfare innovation , policy , and digital transformation .


About the Foundation

Founded in 2004 by BFF Banking Group, Fast Forward Foundation (FFF) initially supported projects in healthcare and culture, reflecting a commitment to research, education, and social impact. In recent years, FFF has refocused its mission on welfare system transformation - connecting health, social protection, and financial inclusion, with digital innovation as a key enabler - what FFF refers to as integrated welfare. This evolution responds to the increasing complexity of European welfare systems and the need for coordinated, people-centered approaches. FFF currently manages several pilot projects and is developing new initiatives to advance welfare system transformation. This is an exciting time to join, as FFF is also in the process of renewing its strategic plan, offering the opportunity to contribute to shaping future directions and priorities.


About the role

The Strategy Intern will work closely with the Program Manager and the Board of Directors, supporting:

  • the development of the new Strategic Plan of the Foundation;
  • background research and context analysis;
  • preparation of documents for decision-making;
  • engagement with external partners and stakeholders.


The role requires strong analytical and communication skills , the ability to synthesize complex information, and confidence in preparing high-quality presentations and documents . This internship is ideal for someone curious, proactive, and eager to explore the non-profit world.


Key responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager in the drafting and refinement of the Foundation’s new strategic plan.
  • Conduct comparative research, benchmarking, and policy analysis across welfare, health, and social protection systems in Europe and internationally.
  • Analyse documents and produce concise, well-structured summaries and briefing notes.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, internal memos, and strategic materials for meetings with institutional partners.
  • Assist in stakeholder engagement activities, including coordination with high-level international and national stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal discussions by providing well-reasoned insights and supporting evidence.


Essential qualifications and skills

  • Enrolled in a Master of Science or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s degree in: Social Sciences, Political Science, Economics, Management, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear insights.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent command of Italian (written and spoken).
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and good command of Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and collaborate in a small, dynamic team.


Desirable skills

  • Experience with academic research, policy analysis, or strategic consulting.
  • Interest in welfare systems, health policy, financial inclusion, or European public policy.
  • Familiarity with stakeholder mapping and international organizations.


What we offer

  • A full-time curricular internship (4-6 months) with hands-on involvement in strategic planning and direct exposure to high-level decision-making.
  • Compensation €800 per month and ticket restaurants.
  • The possibility of a subsequent employment opportunity, based on performance and organizational needs at the end of the internship.

Duration and start date

  • The position is expected to start in January 2025.
  • The exact start and end dates will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
