The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the cost reduction and cost deviation (PCR & PCD) programs of equipment in production. He/She will support Engineering and Sourcing SDE for critical parts/functionalities, ensuring early supplier involvement in full technical specification definition, including quality and reliability parameters. He/She will define sourcing strategies for assigned New Product Development (NPD) projects in agreement with the commodity team. Additionally, he/she will develop and implement supply chain solutions for NPD programs to achieve excellence in quality, cost, and time to market.
Your Mission
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and reporting on equipment material costs, managing cost reduction activities while identifying risks and opportunities.
- Acting as an interface between Engineering, Sourcing Commodities, and Suppliers in innovation and development projects to manage sourcing activities and prepare procurement.
- Leading the sourcing plan for each assigned NPD and New Technology Development (NTD) projects, ensuring the sourcing platform supports transversal projects.
- Ensuring early involvement of strategic suppliers in concept studies to meet material quality and cost targets.
- Coordinating NPD sourcing reviews to ensure global commodity delivery aligns with program targets (supplier selection, contracts, cost achievement, qualification, lead time, risk management).
- Participating in the improvement of tools, processes, and interactions with other global commodities and stakeholders.
- Ensuring early and regular involvement of Supplier Development Engineers (SDE) and global commodities for new supplier or supply qualification.
- Communicating effectively and managing relationships with internal stakeholders to contribute to cross-functional projects.
- Ensuring compliance with sourcing processes.
Your Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing within international manufacturing companies.
- Experience in manufacturing environments or sales is a plus.
- Experience in international negotiations, contracts, and claims management.
- Experience outside of own country of origin is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills essential for communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Lean Specialist and/or Green Belt Certifications.
