Role Overview
The Oracle Strategic Client Director owns overall leadership for an Oracle Key Account, which is one of Oracle’s top revenue-producing and market-leading accounts, across all products, services, and support, on a worldwide basis. The SCD is the senior Oracle executive responsible for the success of the Key Account on a day-to-day basis. The role involves developing and executing a multi-year strategy, maintaining global communication within Oracle and the Key Account, and influencing the customer through credible messaging and broad executive relationships. The goal is to align Oracle as a strategic partner to enable customer initiatives, increase satisfaction, and grow revenues.
The SCD is Oracle’s primary leader and sponsor for the customer, responsible for overall account growth and customer satisfaction by managing key relationships and ensuring value realization from Oracle solutions. Responsibilities include developing and owning the account strategy, managing the sales team, driving account management processes, tracking progress, and increasing Oracle’s revenues across all products and solutions for the Key Account.
Key Objectives
- Grow Oracle’s mindshare, cross-pillar revenue, and share of wallet with the Key Account.
- Understand the Key Account's business requirements and develop tailored Oracle solutions.
- Introduce the Key Account to Oracle solutions and products that meet their business needs.
- Establish the Key Account as a positive reference account.
- Demonstrate measurable progress towards an “Oracle First” relationship.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a multi-year strategic account plan to meet or exceed customer objectives and sales goals, revising it as needed.
- Lead the Oracle team in executing the strategy by coordinating activities across pillars, organizations, and partners.
- Influence and lead strategic planning within sales, product, consulting, and support teams to align with Key Account requirements.
- Manage communication and alignment between Oracle personnel and the Key Account, including reporting and cadence.
- Articulate the value propositions of Oracle and the Key Account to C-level management.
- Gain agreement with the customer on key work streams aligned with their transformation goals.
- Establish a quarterly business review cadence with KA sponsors to track progress.
- Maintain regular communication with the global sales team and extended account teams.
- Facilitate progress meetings with key customer executives and sponsors.
- Coordinate input from Oracle Executive Sponsors for the account.
- Own escalation issues globally and drive resolution to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Build trusted relationships with the customer's executive team.
- Demonstrate business acumen and understanding of the customer’s organization, strategy, and financials.
- Apply value and trust-based selling skills to meet customer needs.
- Navigate Oracle’s resources to address customer needs and present a unified strategy.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the customer's industry.
