I am supporting a leading international engineering organisation that is looking to appoint a

Strategic Buyer

to join its procurement team in Italy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to move away from purely operational purchasing and focus on strategic sourcing, supplier management and delivering measurable value.

This is a

12-month fixed-term contract with a strong opportunity to become permanent , offering the chance to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team where you can develop your skills and make a real impact.

The Opportunity In this role, you will focus on strategic procurement activities across key spend categories including:

Logistics

With responsibility for managing spend of approximately

€10 million , you will have the opportunity to work with suppliers, identify cost and process improvements, support sourcing strategies and help shape procurement decisions across the business.

Operational purchasing activities are managed separately, allowing you to focus on higher-value strategic initiatives, supplier relationships and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For We are keen to speak with procurement professionals who are:

Proactive and naturally curious, always looking for opportunities to improve

Commercially minded with strong supplier management skills

Comfortable analysing data and making recommendations

Interested in developing their strategic procurement capability

Able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Fluent in English & Italian, with strong communication skills

Experience within industrial manufacturing, engineering, components, logistics or similar environments would be highly advantageous.
