Location: Milan Store, Via Sant’Andrea 16 20121 Milano.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Prospective Start Date: ASAP
Candidates must have the flexibility to work across 7 days a week, with 8 hour shift working patterns.
Purpose: The Store Manager acts as the JWA customer facing brand ambassador and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store and its operations, by ensuring an exceptional client experience, driving sales, and maintaining brand standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the luxury industry (Fashion, Art, Culture) – to successfully lead their team and elevate store performance.
Responsibilities:
Sales Focus & Customer Experience:
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets through effective sales strategies and excellent customer service.
- Identify sales opportunities and market trends, tailoring strategies to enhance the shopping experience and drive revenue.
- Offer tailored styling advice and showcase the JW Anderson collections to elevate the in-store experience – from Collection, Show, Collaborations and Special Projects
- Oversee the omni-channel experience, ensuring seamless integration between in-store and online, to maximise sales and customer satisfaction – including customer database building and retention.
- Ensure consistent retail excellence for customers from welcome to exit – across selling ceremony, product knowledge, till service and data collection.
- Execute successful in store events aligned with product launches and in collaboration with HQ teams – PR, VM, Commercial.
Team Management & Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, ensuring each member is motivated, skilled, and aligned with the brand’s values and product assortment requirements
- Focus team members on individual sales and CRM targets through Retail Excellence tracking.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that prioritises exceptional customer service and brand representation – championing excellence and innovation.
- Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about the brand’s products, history, and values to deliver a luxury customer experience.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and offer ongoing coaching and development for team members.
- Effectively manage staff rotas to ensure the right coverage at all times, balancing customer demand, team availability, and budget efficiency.
- Ensure team presentation is consistently at the highest standards as per guidelines
Inventory & Stock Management:
- Take full ownership of stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment to meet customer demand while avoiding overstock.
- Maintain an organised stockroom, implement stock rotation best practices, and ensure accuracy in the inventory system.
- Collaborate with the HQ product team to coordinate the timely delivery of new stock, ensuring product availability on the sales floor.
- Oversee and conduct annual stock takes and any additional stock counts as required.
- Be accountable for achieving sell-through targets, proactively managing inventory to drive sales and minimise markdowns.
In Store Experience:
- Align in store VM and messaging with HQ teams to maximise impact of product launches and ensure alignment with Ecom / global launches / product investments.
- Contribute to visual merchandising and ensure that displays reflect seasonal trends, promotions, and brand identity.
- Promote the JWA retail stores within the area to form local partnerships and activations
Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on store performance, sales, customer feedback, and inventory levels.
- Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adapt sales strategies and remain competitive.
- Manage the store budget, including tracking expenses, controlling costs, and ensuring financial targets are met.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the store operates in compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety checks and maintain an organised and clean working environment for both customers and staff.
- Ensure FOH and BOH standards are maintained at their highest levels.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Store Manager in a retail environment, preferably within high-end fashion or luxury retail.
- Strong sales and customer-focused mindset with a passion for fashion and luxury retail.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- A proactive results-driven approach with the ability to adapt to changing retail environments.
