In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's Middle Mile transportation businesses to build strategic initiatives and frameworks that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver/provider eligibility, and safety standards. You will apply risk and control concepts to new and existing business models, communicate findings to senior leadership, and partner with cross-functional teams to design workflows supporting risk reduction. You will set program objectives, define success metrics, and drive business changes to reduce risk. The role requires independent thinking, strategic planning, analytical problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity.
This position is based at an Amazon corporate HQ and requires periodic travel.

A day in the life
The Sr. Risk & Compliance Manager will work with stakeholders across safety, legal, finance, tech, and HR to implement customer-centric compliance and risk solutions. The individual will lead auditors, support carriers in improvement opportunities, develop corrective action plans, and oversee remediation efforts.
About the team
Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) manages risks for Amazon's transportation operations across 16 regions, ensuring compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and contractual standards. We focus on public safety, process improvement, and enabling business growth through expertise, processes, and technology.
Basic qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
- Experience with technology, lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies
- Master's degree or equivalent
