About Netskope

Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network, and Data Security. Since 2012 we have built a market‑leading cloud security company and an award‑winning culture powered by hundreds of employees across Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Paris, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values of openness, honesty, and transparency guide our open‑desk layouts, large meeting spaces, catered lunches, employee recognition events, and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope.

About The Role

Within Netskope Engineering, we have invented a Next Generation SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) tool that gives enterprises workload and compliance visibility to protect critical data in their numerous Software‑as‑a‑Service deployments. We are expanding these capabilities into domains such as AI security. The research team acts as security advisors, content producers, pathfinders, and minesweepers. Its duties include discovering solutions to problems customers face before they know they have them and finding flaws in design choices before engineering them. We are looking for new security researchers to design novel product capabilities, build security‑focused application integrations, and develop content for the platform.

What’s in it for you

  • Opportunity to shape the design of a novel product and have a significant impact in the enterprise security domain.
  • Chance to solve intellectually rewarding problems with a meaningful purpose.
  • A position with high agency and trust on how you choose to work.
  • An amazing work environment, competitive compensation, benefits, and great perks.
  • Additional reasons to join Netskope as described in our careers page .

What you will be doing

  • Consult and develop the strategic roadmap for novel security capabilities, translating customer needs and emerging threat trends into actionable product requirements.
  • Investigate SaaS, Public Cloud, and AI‑service design and data models; translate them into security graphs consumed by the SPM product.
  • Find novel solutions to provide visibility, security, compliance, and remediation tools for enterprise application environments.
  • Explore different threat vectors for Public Cloud, SaaS, and AI services.
  • Support multiple stakeholders such as engineering, research, product management, and customer success teams as a domain expert.
  • Implement security and compliance content into the product and help make correct security configuration decisions on behalf of our customers.
  • Publish public writing and presentations, such as articles, blogs, or papers in relevant conferences.
  • Mentor, coach, and lead a team of researchers to write detections to the highest quality.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong information security fundamentals and 8+ years of work experience; preference for candidates with a proven track record in Enterprise SaaS security environments.
  • Experience implementing or managing public cloud security, security posture platforms (CSPM/DSPM/ASPM), and understanding of the cloud security ecosystem and enterprise security frameworks.
  • Experience in security analysis, enterprise SaaS deployment hardening, or security content development.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell) capable of solving technical problems with code.
  • Mature analytical mindset for security product development, with experience in greenfield/novel product development, API‑driven automation, and advanced programming capabilities.

Additional Skills

  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fast learning, intuitiveness, and creativity; comfortable working in unknown domains.
  • Ability to be opinionated and not afraid of expressing oneself.
  • Precision, carefulness, and detail orientation.
  • Ability to work in a geo‑distributed cross‑functional group asynchronously.

Education

  • BSCS or equivalent required; MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred.
