We are looking for an amazing Specialist, Competency Framework, and Development to fill this role, which is based in our Naples, Italy office. The Specialist, Competency Framework and Development is responsible for supporting the daily management of the onboard Professional Development Record (PDR) Program.

Responsibilities

  • This role involves collaboration with the respective onboard personnel, responsible for reporting standards, and coordination and dissemination of relevant operational information required for the smooth running of the various PDR and CFW activities onboard and ashore.
  • The role involves assisting with developing and implementing the Competency Framework and other related maritime professional development programs across the PCL fleet.
  • Support and coordinate the Maritime Competency Framework and professional development programs, including job-specific training and the use of modern technology to enhance it.
  • Collaborate with onboard personnel and identify any ship-specific policies and processes for Competency Framework program development and support.
  • Support in developing a consistent career path across all the positions within the brand in line with the brand Competency Framework standards.
  • Assist in developing a consistent mentor program to support personal growth across all positions within the brand.
  • Support cooperation and coordination within the corporate network, CSMART, and other brands to monitor and align maritime professional development programs.


Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of cruise ship operations and should be able to effectively use the knowledge, behaviors, and skill sets required for the officers on board the fleet.
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime or Education.
  • 3 to 5 years in a related field.
  • Shipboard experience as an Officer in the Deck or Technical Department.
  • A proven record in dealing with onboard educational and development programs and working with competencies.
  • A working Knowledge of Maritime Laws & Regulations.
  • IT skills, including Learning technologies and systems.
  • Analytical skills, including dealing with data analysis and databases.
  • Basic presentation skills.
  • Communication and people skills.
