Job Description

On behalf of the Italian subsidiary of the group – SSC Italy – we are seeking passionate individuals with a strong background in space engineering and experience in real‑time operations to support one of our customers in Italy. Requirements

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in spacecraft operations, including direct involvement in LEOP and commissioning activities.
  • Strong knowledge of satellite subsystems.
  • Familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning tools and ground control systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills in time‑critical environments.
  • Advanced level of English and excellent communication skills.
  • Self‑learning skills.
  • Experience in LEO missions will be a plus.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally allowed to work in the EU and hold a European citizenship. Evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.
  • Copy of passport and degree(s) certificate.
  • Good conduct certificate from the country where currently resident.
  • Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference checks.

Responsibilities

  • Flight Operations Procedures (FOP) preparation and validation.
  • Preparation of and participation in validation activities and simulations.
  • Contribution to LEOP execution for several launches, including shift support for few days.
  • Conducting commissioning activities during daytime, i.e. extended office hours including weekends.
  • Monitoring routine operations and reacting to anomalies.
  • Provision of on‑call support outside office hours, for example to react to collision alerts.
  • Performing mission planning activities and generating corresponding products.
  • Executing flight dynamics tasks.
  • Offline analysis of the subsystem performance and reports generation.
  • Anomaly reports handling (authoring, action processing and support of review boards).
  • Participation in and provision of training.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of operations.
  • Work closely with thecraft Operations Manager and the Ground Segment Operations Engineers.
