Salary Range:
€30,000 - €50,000 Join ORiS and help build the future of energy in space. At ORiS, we are building the technologies that will power the next generation of space missions. Through laser-based wireless power transmission, we aim to overcome the energy limitations of today's satellites and enable longer, more capable, and more resilient operations in orbit. We are looking for a Space Business Developer to expand ORiS's commercial pipeline and build strategic partnerships across the European and international space ecosystem. You will identify satellite operators, manufacturers, system integrators, institutions, and technology partners that could benefit from ORiS's laser-based wireless power transmission solutions. Your objective will be to generate and qualify new commercial leads, develop long-term relationships, and convert early discussions into concrete partnerships, pilot projects, and future customer opportunities. You will work closely with the technical team to understand mission requirements, translate customer needs into clear technical inputs, and ensure that product development remains aligned with real market demand. You will also contribute to European grants, institutional programmes, and collaborative R&D proposals. What You Will Do
Identify and approach potential customers and partners across the satellite, space infrastructure, and New Space markets. Generate, qualify, and develop commercial leads through direct outreach, events, industry networks, and strategic partnerships. Build relationships with satellite operators, manufacturers, payload providers, integrators, institutions, and research organisations. Maintain and continuously develop the CRM, ensuring that contacts, opportunities, interactions, next steps, and commercial intelligence are accurately recorded. Manage the progression of leads from initial contact to technical discussions, partnership agreements, demonstrations, and commercial opportunities. Gather operational and technical requirements from potential customers and communicate them clearly to the engineering and product teams. Work with technical colleagues to prepare use cases, feasibility assessments, technical-commercial proposals, and partnership presentations. Identify and contribute to European and national funding opportunities, including ESA, Horizon Europe, EIC, EDF, and other collaborative programmes. Support the preparation of grant proposals, consortium building, partner coordination, and technical-commercial documentation. Represent ORiS at conferences, trade fairs, institutional meetings, and industry events. What We Are Looking For
Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Management, Business, Economics, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in business development, partnerships, technology commercialisation, or grant-funded projects. Experience generating and managing B2B leads and maintaining a structured CRM pipeline. Understanding of the space industry, satellite value chain, or institutional space ecosystem. Ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into clear inputs for engineering teams. Experience with European grants, public funding programmes, or collaborative R&D proposals. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills. Professional proficiency in English. Nice to Have
Existing relationships within the European space industry, ESA ecosystem, or New Space market. Knowledge of satellite platforms, payloads, power systems, or in-orbit services. Experience with Horizon Europe, EIC Accelerator, ESA programmes, or national space-agency calls. Experience developing commercial partnerships, pilot projects, letters of intent, or joint proposals. Why ORiS
Shape the strategic direction of a pioneering company developing the future of space-based energy. Build partnerships that will define the next generation of orbital infrastructure. Work directly with technical leaders, investors, and global industry stakeholders. Influence market creation for technologies that currently exist at the edge of innovation. Gain unique exposure to the aerospace, energy, and deep-tech ecosystems. Grow within an ambitious company where entrepreneurial thinking and strategic impact matter.
