Amazon Web Services, Inc. – Job ID: – Seattle, Washington – Position: Solutions Architect II – Compensation: $141,439–$177,600 per year.
Position Responsibilities
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support. Analyze application portfolios, identify dependencies and common infrastructure platform components, and assess migration feasibility.
- Architect hybrid AWS and on-premises solutions.
- Guide customers on architecture choices and inform them of the best practices to adopt AWS efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ensure success in building, migrating, and deploying applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
- Brief senior executive team on customer progress of adopting AWS and define future platform requirements for onboarding and migration to AWS.
- Author AWS customer‑facing publications such as whitepapers.
- Share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community.
- Engage with developers, system administrators, software architects, project managers, directors, and C‑level customers to define cloud strategies and deployments.
- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and ensure that solutions are designed for successful deployment on AWS.
Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus one year of experience in the role, or as a Database Administrator, Support Engineer, or related occupation.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus five years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the role or related occupation (equivalent to Master's) plus one year of experience.
- One year of experience in each of the following skill sets:
- Designing, implementing, and consulting with distributed applications.
- Architecting, provisioning, and deploying applications to public cloud environments or on‑premises virtualized environments using C++, Perl, Python, Java, Ruby, Node.js, or an equivalent object‑oriented programming language.
- Experience with database architecture, performance tuning, big data processing, mobile app development, or Big Data/Hadoop.
- 100% telecommuting permitted; work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience or certifications in AWS architecture, cloud migration, or related domains.
