Primary Purpose of Role
As a Software Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer, you will contribute to the development and validation of embedded software for mechatronic systems in the off‑highway sector, with a particular focus on electric vehicles and innovative powertrain technologies. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to review requirements, define test strategies, and verify embedded control logics throughout the development lifecycle.
Depending on the project, your responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing and approving system and software requirements, including Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC) documentation
- Drafting and executing test cases for safety‑critical systems aligned with relevant standards (EN 1175, EN ISO 13849, EN ISO 25119)
- Implementing, running, and maintaining automated and manual test cases, as well as generating clear and traceable test reports
- Developing physical models, plant models, and virtual ECUs suitable for real‑time execution in hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) environments
- Creating and maintaining sensor models, communication models (e.G., CAN, LIN), and related simulation assets
- Performing static and dynamic code analyses to identify defects, inefficiencies, and compliance gaps
- Preparing, organizing, and presenting test results to internal stakeholders in a clear and structured manner
- Supporting the setup, configuration, and maintenance of HIL benches and testing infrastructure

Key Responsibilities
- Develop testing strategies for OH embedded software and implement, execute, and maintain test cases
- Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of HIL benches and related test environments
- Communicate testing progress, results, and issues to management and leadership in a clear and structured way
- Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) culture
Qualifications and Experience
University Master Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic/Automation Engineering or Math/Physics
Professional Background: 3–5 years of experience in industry or academia on mechatronics‑related projects, with strong expertise in embedded software testing techniques as well as modeling and programming.
Competencies and Behaviors
Hard Skills:
Strong foundation in engineering principles.
Solid knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink for model‑based development.
Good command of Simulink Test for test creation and automation.
Strong proficiency in Python and basic knowledge of C/C++ programming languages.
Good knowledge of the dSPACE toolchain, including ControlDesk, ConfigurationDesk, and AutomationDesk.
Familiarity with static code analysis tools (e.G., Polyspace Bug Finder and Code Prover).
Familiar with CAN bus communication protocols (Classical CAN and J1939).
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Considered as a plus:
Vector CanAlyzer/CanApe Studio
Familiar with UDS and XCP protocols
Familiar with CanOpen
Familiar with Azure/Jenkins pipeline environment
