We\'re on a journey to build something new! Come join our team and build new discovery and shopping products that connect customers with their vehicle of choice. We\'re looking for a talented Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to join our team of product managers, designers, and engineers to conceive, design, and develop innovative automotive-shopping experiences for our customers. Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. QAEs are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help and are responsible for understanding the domain and the product to create test strategy/planning, test cases, and driving the test case sign-off processes with stakeholders, contributing to code level unit tests, test execution, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate QA processes and develop repeatable and automatable QA systems.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, QAEs, SDETs, and SDEs to understand features and technical implementation.
  • Identify use cases, create test plans, define test strategies, and create manual and automated test cases to report on quality and reliability.
  • Evangelize quality best practices and own the test strategy, design for testability, and test execution.
  • Be the QA on a team driving data collection, identifying user workflows, end-to-end testing, and quality improvements.

A day in the life

  • Create test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
  • Review user interfaces for conformity and functionality.
  • Efficiently execute test cases across all functional areas of our products.
  • Review product UI for conformity to design guidelines.
  • Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution.
  • Interpret and report testing results and advocate for quality in every phase of development.
  • Work with software engineers to understand overall technical architecture and feature implementation.
  • Engage in code reviews to ensure testability and unit test designs.
  • Develop automated tests, scripts, and tools to enable CI/CD.
  • Collaborate across teams to enhance total product quality.

About the team

This role is on a team with a vision to create innovative automotive discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
  • Experience in automation testing
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)
  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in API & Mobile testing
  • Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
