Software Engineer for Security Applications

Qascom is looking for a Security Software Engineer to join our Security Engineering division in Bassano del Grappa (VI) Italy .

As part of the Security Engineering Team, the candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing and implementation of security software systems for space missions and governmental services. This includes the design of security protocol, security architectures and cryptographic solutions. The Security Engineering Team is involved in the newest cutting-edge projects of the European Space Agency ESA and the Italian Space Agency ASI , as well as supporting the major international industrial players of the sector.

What you will work on :

• Design, development, testing, and deployment of space and ground systems, with particular focus on key management, telecommunication protocols for space applications, applied cryptography, and security services of satellite systems.
• Support to the System Engineering , including but not limited to requirements analysis, identification, and flow-down.
• Drafting of technical documentation in compliance to relevant standards (e.g. ECSS, GSWS, CCSDS, etc.)
• Security Risk Analysis and Assessment.

What do you need :

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Computer Engineering .
• 2/4+ years of work experience as a software developer and designer in relevant domains (complex or networked software systems).
• Professional experience in the design and development of multi‑threaded software systems .
• Knowledge of applied cryptography (even if academic).
• Solid understanding of software design principles .
• Knowledge of Rust or C++ program languages;
• Eligibility for National Security Clearance.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English .
