Software Engineer
For one of our clients operating in the railway infrastructure sector for over sixty years, consistently pursuing innovation and cutting‑edge technologies. A leader in the production of power supply units for railways and stations, LED‑based signaling systems, Automatic Train Protection (ATP) systems, and ERTMS, for both trackside and onboard subsystems, we are looking for a Software Engineer .
Responsibilities
Software Engineers document this process through the use of diagrams and flowcharts, developing computer instructions through the use of algorithms. A Software Engineer must have a thorough understanding of computer systems, in order to recognize any hardware limitations that could impact software design.
- Improving system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures.
- Following the CENELEC prescriptions for safety system development (SIL 4), in particular the process described in the EN 50126‑50128 standards.
- Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing systems.
- Maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer‑review code changes.
- Liaising with colleagues to implement technical designs.
- Investigating and using new technologies where relevant.
- Writing reports and giving presentations to managers and colleagues.
Qualifications
- The candidate should have a consistent and complete professional experience in a similar position acquired in multinational industrial contexts in transportation/railway/signaling, as well as proven experience with high‑level programming languages such as C, C++, Java, etc.
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience in related fields is essential.
- Passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions.
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills with an ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase.
- Outstanding all‑round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Good English knowledge (B2) is also required.
