Our team is growing, and Brightstar is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer Specialist to join our ambitious team in Rome, Italy. This opportunity allows you to work on modern projects, contribute to cutting‑edge solutions, and grow your career within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Strive for continuous improvement in efficiency and workflow governance.
  • Build and develop tooling that enhances workflow efficiencies.
  • Work closely with requirements engineers to estimate and deliver flawless products.
  • Promote high quality and timely completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with onsite and remote teams to implement solutions.
  • Provide technical solutions to complex problems and produce comprehensive documentation.
  • Deliver feature‑rich software on time and within budget.
  • Maintain 24/7 support of solutions in specialized or disaster situations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of software development experience or related scripting experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with software development pipelines.
  • Computer Science bachelor’s degree, college degree, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills

  • Experience coding in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.).
  • Extensive experience with container technologies (Docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and IaC tools (Terraform).
  • Proven experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and version control (Git).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
  • Prior exposure to Terraform and cloud environments (specifically Azure) is desirable.
  • Proficiency with build and packaging tools (ant, maven, gulp, etc.).
  • Advanced Linux system administration skills.
  • Knowledge of cloud‑native architectures and microservices.
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
  • Expertise in monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki/ELK stack).
  • Solid grasp of security guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Blue/Green and Canary deployment strategies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.

Preferred Skills

  • Relevant certifications (Azure DevOps Engineer, CKA, AWS DevOps Professional).
  • Experience working in regulated industries.
  • Ability to pass a security assessment.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Experience with high‑availability and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity and experience with production deployment and troubleshooting.
