About the job?

As aSoftware Development Engineer at Alfa Laval, you will be responsible for managing several mid- to large-scale software projects in parallel, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and specify complete automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and control panels.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering complete automation systems and creating technical documentation (FDS, O&M manuals, FAT protocols)
  • Writing RFQs for automation components based on input from process and electrical engineers
  • Specifying all parts of control systems for components, systems, and plants
  • Collaborating with purchasing to manage suppliers
  • Supporting proposal and sales activities
  • Optimizing project costs through efficient design and procurement
  • Providing remote or on-site support for commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Mentoring and coaching junior automation engineers, reviewing their work and guiding problem resolution

What you know ?

  • Strong background inindustrial automation and software engineering
  • Experience withPLC and HMI programming
  • Familiarity withcontrol system architecture and design
  • Ability to create and managetechnical documentation
  • Knowledge ofproject management principles
  • Skilled incost optimization and supplier coordination
  • Experience incommissioning and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability tomentor and lead junior engineers
  • Fluent inwritten and spoken English
