D-Orbit is seeking a Software AIV Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team.
This position requires a versatile professional who combines expertise in Python programming, in-depth knowledge of electronics, and experience in the space industry.
The main objective of your work will be designing and developing automated test procedures for the verification of flight software of avionic platforms used on board of our spacecrafts, validated in Engineering Model of the Spacecraft, representative of the Flight Model.
The job will also focus on the AIV testing support during subsystem, system and spacecraft integration, with emphasis on hardware-software integration and electronic board validation.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Script development for testing the subsystem and system (e.g. from satellite sensors and actuators up to the AOCS system)
- Validation of features, including integration with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test suites, V&V technical documentation
- Test scenarios definitions against embedded software requirements
- Support the HW engineer in procedure maintenance, support for Non Conformance, improvement, and delta design analysis
- Prepare work instructions and test procedures for Manufacturing operators to upload and test the flight SW
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the team's processes, methodologies, and test framework
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in embedded software development.
- Experience delivering embedded software in any C-family language
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver an application in Python language
- Knowledge of any typical embedded communication interfaces such as RS232, RS485, USART, SPI, I2C, CAN
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
- Degree in any relevant area such as computer engineering, electronic engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics, or automation.
- Proficient in using electronic lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer, power supply, electronic load, etc.)
- Full professional proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in writing engineering documents (requirements specifications, Validation & Verification plan, ICD, etc.) and test procedures
- Experience in defining software system specifications and software requirements
- good knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Good familiarity with common design patterns used in OOP
- Good familiarity with the Git versioning system or any similar DVCS
- Good familiarity with Labview language and PLC Siemens
- Fluency in Italian
