It designs, manufactures and markets current and next-generation battery technologies used in a wide range of applications, and serves global markets with world-class battery technologies, technical expertise and value-added services under many well-known brands.

The Engineer role develops Sodium Ion battery systems for low voltage automotive applications by defining pack architecture, integrating BMS functionality, and validating system performance, in response to OEM product RFQs and technical expectations.

Main tasks:

• Define battery pack configuration, electrical design, mechanical constraints, thermal requirements, and safety concepts for Sodium Ion LV and CV battery systems.

• Collaborate with BMS suppliers to define key functional requirements (SOC/SOH algorithms, balancing strategy, protection logic).

• Plan, execute, and analyze pack-level electrical tests; collaborate with external labs for safety tests.

• Create battery system specifications, interface documents, DFMEA inputs, validation plans, and technical reports.

• Interface with suppliers to align designs with technical and manufacturing requirements.

• Participate in OEM technical discussions and support system integration topics.

• Coordinate closely with Cell Engineering for synergy between cell behavior and pack control strategies.

• Provide technical training to internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of experience in battery system development, BMS engineering, automotive LV/CV focused on HEV/EV systems.

• Experience with lithium-ion or sodium-ion battery packs and automotive electronics.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy Engineering, or related field.

• Expert use of Microsoft Office; preferred knowledge of test bench programming, simulations, and modelling. Programming ability in Matlab, C++, Python or similar.

• Strong English proficiency (C1).

• Knowledge of safety procedures for Na-Ion (Li-Ion) cell testing.

• Understanding of battery pack design, safety strategies, automotive architectures, BMS algorithms, CAN/LIN, balancing, fault diagnostics, functional safety (ASIL).
