Job Description Summary

The AI Partner will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and deploying high‑impact artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation applications at the site level. This role requires close collaboration with various functions and stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and ensure the successful integration and scaling of AI solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with different functions, lean teams, and stakeholders to proactively identify and evaluate high‑impact opportunities for AI/ML applications at the site level.
  • Act as a key AI partner to cross‑functional project teams.
  • Guide teams through the potential and limitations of AI/ML to effectively address specific business challenges.
  • Translate business challenges into clear problem statements, measurable success criteria, and value hypotheses.
  • Serve as a key partner for the site to leverage AMP 2.0 possibilities.
  • Coach different teams in AMP 2.0 and guide them through the different functionalities to develop their own use‑cases in AMP.
  • Drive the development of proof‑of‑concept (POC) for high‑impact opportunities at the site level.
  • Work closely with the PT Central AI team to quickly run feasibility tests or adapt existing use‑cases for the site’s business needs.
  • Partner with the PT Central AI team and other stakeholders to scale AI POC to production‑scale deployments.
  • Activate the business impact of the AI solution at the site level.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in industrial engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, data science, artificial intelligence or comparable discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in the industrial application of AI/ML (PoCs, first deployments) as well as in working with business departments and IT/OT.
  • Data & Integration: SQL, structured/unstructured data, APIs/ETL, data quality checks; integration with enterprise systems (e.g. SAP, MES); visualization (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Experience with Lean/Kaizen practices, especially moderating workshops/events.
  • Proficiency in writing and speaking in English and Italian.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Good understanding of project management principles, including agile methodologies, to drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Ability to work under pressure; take ownership of onsite activities.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and prepare clear, concise documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within diverse, cross‑functional teams at the site and PT level.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Relocation assistance: No.
  • Pay range: €45,400.00 – €68,000.00 gross per annum, based on education, qualifications, experience and skill set.
  • Variable‑AIP bonus plan: target incentive of 10% of base salary, contingent on key business metrics and individual performance.
  • Pay governed by the Metalworking CCNL collective agreement.
  • Pension and insurance: Cometa pension fund, standard and supplemental health coverage, accident and life insurance, and EAP support.
