Senoir Network Security Engineer

Overview

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering opportunities across Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more. Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Security Engineer operating as a Palo Alto SME to join the team. You\'ll join our team on an initial 6-month contract with scope to extend, based in Central Europe.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end implementation of SASE / Zero Trust architectures
• Work closely with customers to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into secure network designs
• Configure and troubleshoot:
  • GlobalProtect (remote access VPN)
  • Service Connections & Remote Networks
  • Security policies, NAT, and routing
• Integrate Prisma Access with existing infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, identity providers, SIEM tools)
• Provide technical workshops, knowledge transfer, and documentation to customers
• Support migration from legacy VPN or on-prem firewall solutions to cloud-delivered security
• Troubleshoot complex networking and security issues across hybrid environments
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, support, project management) to ensure successful delivery
• Stay up to date with Palo Alto Networks technologies and SASE trends

What you\'ll bring

• Must be fluent in English, Spanish and/or Italian
• History of delivering major Prisma Access projects
• Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies, especially Prisma Access, PAN-OS firewalls
• Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals (BGP, IPsec, routing, NAT), Security principles, zero trust, segmentation, threat prevention
• History of delivering customer-facing professional services engagements
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with authentication technologies (SAML, LDAP, MFA)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
