An independent, Milan-based alternative asset manager specialising in infrastructure and private markets is hiring an investment professional to join the team behind its newly launched generalist infrastructure fund. The firm manages over €3 billion in gross asset value across five funds, has raised more than €1.5 billion in commitments from leading institutional investors. Targets middle-market opportunities driven by structural megatrends including digital transformation, transportation innovation, circular economy, social infrastructure and demographic shifts, alongside the energy transition
The Role
This is a principal investing role within a small, high-impact team building a new fund from the ground up. The successful candidate will be involved across the full investment lifecycle:
- Source, evaluate and execute equity investments in infrastructure assets across digital networks and infrastructure, transport and mobility, circular economy, social infrastructure and energy transition.
- Lead financial modelling, due diligence coordination and investment committee memoranda for new opportunities.
- Conduct market mapping, thematic research and pipeline development across target sectors and geographies.
- Support portfolio value creation initiatives post-investment, working closely with management teams of portfolio companies.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts and investor relations materials as the fund scales.
- Collaborate with the Senior Partner and wider investment team to shape the fund's strategy and sector positioning.
Candidate Profile
- 6–9 years of experience, of which a meaningful portion must have been spent in principal infrastructure investing or private equity.
- Direct deal experience across at least two of the following sectors: digital infrastructure, transport and mobility, circular economy, social infrastructure, energy transition.
- Profiles with only energy / renewables experience will not be considered — a demonstrably broader infrastructure or PE background is essential.
- International experience (cross-border deal execution, multi-jurisdictional portfolios or time spent working abroad) is highly valued.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and transaction execution skills.
- Fluent in English; Italian is a strong advantage given the Milan base and Italian market focus.
- Excellent academic credentials from a leading university or business school.
