JOB TITLE: Senior Video Editor

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Consultant level II

DIVISION/UNIT: Brand Management & Multimedia, COM

DUTY STATION: Rome/HQ

DURATION: 11 Months

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: Under the supervision of the Senior Multimedia Producer and in close collaboration with communications colleagues, the Senior Video Editor will lead on the delivery of high-quality, consistent, and impactful video content across WFP''s global communications outputs.

This HQ-based role will serve as a senior technical resource, contributing to the consistency of editorial approaches, visual identity, and production quality across video content produced by headquarters, regional and country offices.

The consultant will also contribute to the development and application of video production standards and provide technical guidance and feedback to colleagues and partners, supporting continuous improvement in video storytelling.

In parallel, the Senior Video Editor will produce and edit high-profile video content, contributing to flagship outputs and helping to maintain a high standard of visual storytelling aligned with WFP''s brand and humanitarian objectives.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Video Quality & Editorial Consistency

Lead on ensuring consistency in visual identity, tone, storytelling approach, and production quality across video outputs

Review video products from HQ and field teams when required, providing constructive editorial feedback

Identify areas for improvement and provide practical recommendations to enhance quality and consistencyLead on development and updating of video production guidelines, workflows, and specifications

2. Technical Guidance & Capacity Support

Provide technical guidance to video editors and multimedia colleagues in headquarters, regional bureaux, and country offices

Design and deliver training sessions, and practical guidance materials

Serve as a senior technical reference point for complex or high-visibility video productions when requested

3. Video Production & Post-Production

Lead on production of high-quality video content for global campaigns, executive communications, and institutional outputs

Script, structure, and edit audiovisual content for a variety of platforms and audiences

Apply advanced post-production techniques, including sound design, colour grading, and motion graphics

Ensure outputs meet WFP quality standards, timelines, and communication objectives

4. Operational & Technical Support

Supervise the Assistant TV Studio Producer and act as reference point for video editors with the wider GHQ team

Provide technical support to studio productions, including camera operation, lighting, and on-set assistance

Develop and maintain reusable templates and assets (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro templates) in line with branding requirements

Support proper archiving and management of audiovisual assets in line with organisational practices

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: A portfolio of high-quality video outputs supporting major campaigns and communications initiatives Edited and produced flagship video content aligned with WFP''s editorial and branding standards Produced updated video production guidelines, templates, or supporting materials

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: Degree in film production, multimedia, communications, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)

Experience:

At least 8 years of experience in video production and post-production

Proven experience producing high-quality audiovisual content for international or institutional audiences

Experience working in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders

Knowledge & Skills:

Advanced proficiency in video editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)

Strong storytelling, scripting, and visual editing skills

Solid understanding of brand consistency and visual communication

Ability to provide constructive feedback and work collaboratively with diverse teams

Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outputs

Languages: Good knowledge of English is required.
