You will support the development and execution of Market Access strategies for breakthrough technologies across multiple Operating Units. This role is critical in shaping how therapies are funded, adopted and integrated into the healthcare system, working closely with national and regional stakeholders to overcome access barriers and enhance care delivery.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Develop and implement market access and reimbursement plans to ensure optimal availability of Medtronic therapies in the Italian healthcare system
- Identify and manage barriers to adoption, designing strategic initiatives such as pay-for-performance agreements or market entry programs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Market Development and Government Affairs teams to align strategies and maximize therapy penetration
- Work closely with EMEA Health Economics Policy and Reimbursement (HEPR) teams to define the value proposition and economic impact of therapies
- Engage with regional health authorities and administrative stakeholders to co-create sustainable access solutions
- Provide reimbursement insights and training to internal teams and external healthcare providers
- Lead and manage strategic access projects, coordinating field implementation plans and ensuring measurable outcomes.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Master’s degree in scientific disciplines (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy) or a postgraduate degree in Health Economics, Market Access or related fields
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Market Access, Reimbursement, Health Policy or a related role within the healthcare or life sciences industry
- Deep understanding of the Italian National Health System (NHS) architecture, including hospital funding and reimbursement mechanisms
- Proven experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Business acumen
- Problem-solving and a result-oriented approach
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Fluency in Italian and English
- Travelling up to 60%.
The ideal candidate brings experience engaging with regional authorities and stakeholders, along with familiarity in health economic modelling and outcome-based contracting. They have been exposed to national Market Access frameworks and healthcare policies, and have previously worked within MedTech or other highly regulated healthcare environments. Strong negotiation skills and a flexible, adaptable approach are also essential to succeed in this role.
