About the role :
Are you a Product guru who thrives being close to the action, embedded within a high-performing technical team, serving as the critical link between business and engineers? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
You will report directly to the Head of Technology, assisting our Applications and Data teams in translating business needs into actionable work. You will bring expertise in balancing priorities, collaborating with technical and non-technical partners, managing roadmaps, breaking down complex problems, and working in an Agile environment to help our engineering teams move faster and deliver more.
In this role, you will :
- Own and drive the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the Application and Data teams, translating quarterly objectives into sprint-level deliverables with clear acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to clarify requirements, negotiate scope, and ensure sustainable velocity.
- Prioritize and sequence software releases based on business value, dependencies, and risks, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health.
- Champion and evolve Agile best practices (Scrum), leading ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Ops, and Network to gather requirements, incorporate feedback, and ensure User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is completed post-launch.
- Translate complex business, regulatory, security, and performance requirements into technical specifications and actionable tickets.
To be successful in this role, you should have :
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- At least 4 years of experience as a product owner, technical product manager, or similar role.
- Experience managing boards and backlogs in Jira, with a track record of shipping SaaS or consumer products.
- Knowledge of modern tech stacks such as TypeScript / Node / Python, Snowflake / SQL, React / Next.js, and Azure; curiosity and willingness to learn are valued if unfamiliar.
- Excellent communication skills, able to tailor explanations for different audiences, including engineering teams and senior leadership.
It would be great if you have :
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry or regulated systems.
- A passion for improving health insurance services.
- Prior experience as a software engineer.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Tableau, Sigma, dbt, or similar for product metrics.
Location :
Texicare offers a flexible hybrid work environment focused on collaboration. All employees must reside in Texas. Employees in the Austin area are expected to work from our office at least two days a week. Remote workers outside the greater Austin area may work remotely within Texas, with occasional travel to Austin as needed.
