Senior System Interiors Engineer

Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Senior System Interiors Engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks in the Engineering Department, from technical design of interiors and passenger seat systems to coordination and verification of detailed engineering deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Support and coordination during the bid and project development of the technical design of interiors, passenger seat systems
- Define conceptual solutions for equipment integration on vehicles
- Prepare system requirements specifications
- Analyze suppliers’ technical proposals (CbC, MOM, Gantt, Tests, etc.)
- Check technical descriptions of systems
- Verify 3D and 2D drawings / documents for installation and integration on board
- Review FEM analysis reports
- Develop tolerance concept and analysis for equipment integration
- Prepare and verify performance test specifications
- Support during FAI tests
- Conduct design reviews with clients and suppliers
- Manage system work package requirements
- Manage contractual documentation with suppliers (CbC, MOM, Gantt, Tests, etc.)
Required Skills / Knowledge
- At least 3 years experience in interiors design in railway or mechanical industry as System Interiors Engineer or similar role
- Good knowledge of materials used for interiors – GRP, aluminium alloy, honeycomb, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Proficiency in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA) and IBM DOORS
- Understanding of engineering processes and railway operations
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities in a fast‑paced, international setting
- Availability for short‑term national and international business trips

Education / Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background (technical high‑school graduation also considered)
