We are looking for a SENIOR SYSTEM ARCHITECT to join the Electronics team, reporting directly to the Functional System Architect Leader. This position is based at our office in Corbetta.
As the Senior System Architect, you will:
- Be a technical expert in system engineering applied to automotive ECUs development.
- Contribute to the technical solution implemented in the ECU, to the definition of the system requirements and system architecture.
- Be the expert technical interface with the relevant project stakeholders (customer, product management, hardware and software teams, manufacturing).
- Have deep knowledge of vehicle functions and network protocols, with a multi‑domain vision.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the system functional repartition between Mechanics, Optics, HW and SW and across Marelli division (ELS – Electronics, AL&S – Automotive Lighting & Sensing, PS – Propulsion Systems)
- Act as a technical reference with the project stakeholders (e.g.: customer, hardware, software, manufacturing, etc.).
- Identify and maintain the full set of applicable stakeholders' requirements (e.g.: norms, procedures, customer and internal specifications, cybersecurity system requirements, etc.).
- Lead the definition of the system architecture design.
Qualifications
- Product Development Standard Processes knowledge (A-SPICE, especially familiar with SYS.1, SYS.2, SYS.3).
- Requirements management tools knowledge (e.g. DOORS).
- Architecture modeling methodologies and tools (Enterprise Architect and Simulink tools, UML and SYSML languages).
- Analytic tools and methodologies (e.g. FMEA, FTA).
- Functional Safety standard and design rules (e.g. ISO 26262) knowledge.
- Knowledge of vehicle architectures, and functions distribution, with body and/or multi-domain (e.g.: body controller, powertrain, lighting, etc.) knowledge.
- Familiar with multiprocessor architectures and real‑time OS ECUs development.
- Knowledge of vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet, VLAN, LIN) and familiar with main relevant protocols (e.g.: SomeIP, AVB, gPTP).
- Knowledge of Car Access (PEPS, UWB, BTLE functions).
- Automotive technical, environmental and homologation standards.
Nice to have: knowledge of thermal and voltage management, Data Routing Engine (DRE), Software Update and FOTA, Hypervisor and/or Virtual Machine technologies.

- +5 years of experience in the Automotive OEM industry following ICE and EV vehicles architecture definition.
- Electronic Engineering Degree, Information Science Degree.
- Experienced in planning, monitoring, and control activities.
- Willing to travel to the customer, supplier and Marelli locations involved.
